Paul Kimura Design accepts a select number of custom commissions each year, encompassing architectural elements, furniture, and objects developed in close collaboration with our clients. Each piece is made to order in our Los Angeles studio, from structural architectural components and site-specific details to bespoke furniture conceived around the character and use of a particular space, as well as small-run editions for residential and commercial environments. The process begins with an initial inquiry and in-person consultation to establish the scope, intended application, timeline, and overall fit. From there, we develop a detailed proposal incorporating preliminary sketches, material selections, and a comprehensive cost estimate. Upon approval, each commission moves into production, with most pieces completed within 5-10 weeks.
